Skirmishers who have zero movement in a displacement move

Skirmishes are contacted by a TUG in its first movement phase Skirmishers have three options,
1. Skirmish,
2. Runaway, or
3. Fall back/Displaced in line with move at least 1 BW from enemy.

Question:- if they choose to skirmish and end up with a zero move are the destroyed on contact or do they revert to #3

Where does it say that?
I can only see (p111 para 3) the options to run away or be pushed back.

They have to Run Away or Skirmish.  If they are SuGs caught by enemy TuGs in good going they are broken immediately and removed from the table unless TuG is within 1 base of breaking.

Turn Sequence SP 2.6 6.4 on page 84.

But that's talking about charge moves. Isn't the original question about the movement phase?

lionheartrjc

Apologies, the question confused me by mentioning skirmishing.

If a SuG is contacted by an emeny TuG during its movement phase it is pushed back.  If it exceeds its movement distance then the SuG takes a KaB test.
Note, if pushed back it doesn't have the option of skirmishing.  It can run away or slide/align to 1BW from the enemy TuG (page 111).

SuGs can only be displaced (as opposed to pushed back) by a friendly SuG.  This is unaffected by movement distance.

A version of the original question remains: if the SuG chooses to run away, but the enemy TuG still contacts the SuG, what happens? The rules appear to be silent on this possibility.

lionheartrjc

Common sense (page 77) suggests that a SuG running away from being displaced and contacted will be broken and instantly removed.

I concluded awhile back that my sense on these matters was decidedly uncommon - so now I  just ask. Much safer that way.  :P

My inner pedant makes me ask "How can any SUG (foot or mounted) be reduced to zero movement if running away in Good Going?"

lionheartrjc

Shot at and then rolling poor dice.  Takes a bit of effort!

if they run away, is this an outcome move, so they can do an ordinary move as well (M2, M9,,M10), or as the runaway was done in the movement phase does it constituet there move?

badhabum

They move as if runned away so as per QRS move their moves are somewhat limited

If carrying shooting slow(s) then I guess being pushed would be the sensible gamble  ::)

It all depends on the situation ! pushed back has to retreat the way it is pushed back while SK can be to the rear of the SUG not always the same
