Seems to clearly say that counterchargers and interceps are shot at.

I don't think that would be a good idea. In MeG base losses also cover morale a keil recuded in depth would in all likelihood still be a deep formation, just one that has had its morale battered.

No axe to grind just wondering.

Not too bothered about allies personally - especially as for some armies you'd have to print out quite a lot of lists.

Bottom of page 8 and start of page 9 in the claries doc - Skirmishing When Charged From Flank/Rear.

IMO reads as if the turn is optional.

Plus the question of whether they should be able to shoot in the shooting phase which would also apply to troops running away who ended up with a target in front of them - IMO there is nothing in the rules stopping them shooting (and that is OK).
