Is it acceptable to organize the Longbow units in the above list as 8 elements each with 4 of the elements of each of those longbow units having stakes? It meets the requirements of all similar longbow units having stakes. It seems inaccurate to assume that all elements of a unit would historically carry stakes.
Thanks,

A mounted unit 3 elements wide wants to intercept a charging mounted enemy unit by moving into a 2-element wide open space between 2 friendly units. The enemy unit has the initiative.  Can the intercepting mounted unit drop back an element to fit into the 2-element wide open space?

List Queries / 2026 OID army builder issue
November 16, 2025, 11:29:50 PM
Thanks to the previous help I was able to download and use the 2026 army builder.
While comparing the 2025 and 2026 army builder I was unable to find the Cantabrian option under the Skirmisher subsection.
Please check that out.
Thanks,

List Queries / 2026 Army Builder
November 16, 2025, 05:29:58 PM
I was able to download the 2026 DRAFT ARMY BUILDER .....IS IT OK TO USE FOR 2026 ARMY LISTS?

I'd APPRECIATE IT IF SOMEONE WOULD LET ME KOW WHERE TO FIND THE new 2026 army builder that works with xlibrus???
The 2 2026 versions do not seem to work with my older computer.
Thanks

I often search for army lists that fit the figures I have and that do NOT appear in tournaments that I've been able to review.
I'd like to game the Bahrain Qarmatian list BUT am uncomfortable about one of the special conditions that all the infantry UG's start the game mounted.
That seems excessive so I'm asking for an exception or adjustment limiting the number of camel mounted infantry to say 50% or so.
Please advise and thanks in advance.

List Queries / Early Medieval Low Countries

"English longbowmen must be attached to a tug of 6 guildsmen or....."
Can the Longbowmen shoot over the forward ranks of Guildsmen as is the case when Indian archers shoot over Indian spearmen?
Assuming that the above is the case can the shoot over 2 ranks of Guildsmen or are they limited to 1 shooting over 1 rank or must they be side by side?
I assume that a proper formation would be GGG
                                                               GGG
                                                                 Bow
                                                                 Bow
The Longbowmen would get 1 shot in that formation at full effect
OR if they were side by side in the 3rd rank they would get 2 shots at a reduced rate.
Please Clarify and thanks.

List Queries / Late Crusades Clarification
July 01, 2024, 02:51:40 AM
My question relates to the following sub section of the Late Crusades list:
"Replace Crossbowmen with mixed tugs of 1/2 spearmen, 1/2 crossbowmen (from 1191 CE)
"if mixed TuG's of Spearmen and Crossbowmen are taken, the minimum and maximum number of spearmen is reduced by half the number of bases in the mixed tugs"
Does that mean that the total number of spearmen are reduced or that the number of spearmen in the mixed tug can not be duplicated with the total number of spearmen available remaining at 32?
OR does that reduce the number of crossbowmen and or does that mean that an independent unit of all spearmen no longer have Shieldwall???
Please be specific and thanks.

How does the 2nd evading unit evade for the 2nd time. Does the owning player role a 6 sided die a 2nd time to determine the evading distance as was the case during the 1st evade move?
And if the charging unit (in this case elephants with shove) started their charge within 1 base width of the evading cavalry during the initial charge  (thus the elephant unit was NOT prompted), does that mean that the player owning the charging unit can make a 2nd charge unprompted if it ends its pursuit within 1 base width of the unit that has evaded a 2nd time OR since the charging unit did NOT take a prompted action at any point (No cards were used) can the charging unit prompt a charge into the unit that has evaded a 2nd time since that would be the FIRST time the charging unit was prompted.
It's convoluted But if the rules do NOT prohibit the above one can see how this could go on and on and on.
Thanks for your interpretation of the above.

The Norther California group had a one-day MEG tournament and one of the players asked for a Forum interpretation as follows:

A unit of elephants charged 2 units of bow armed Flexable Cavalry that were in loose formation.
Both flexible cavalry units skirmished away. Both Cavalry units shot at the elephants. The unit of elephants used a card to push through fire.
One of the evading units rolled down and was contacted by the charging elephants and broken in the Charge phase.
The broken unit had elements that fled away from the initial fight and were perused by the Elephants that converted into
the 2nd unit of Flexable Cavalry that was also in loose formation.
Obviously no additional bow fire was allowed.
The player owning the cavalry took the position that even though the 2nd cavalry unit had already skirmished away that it could evade/skirmish away a 2nd time.
The group consensus was that a 2nd evade/skirmish away in the same phase is not allowed and that the elephants would fight the 2nd cavalry unit during the following mele phase.
Please advise if we missed something or as per the above did something incorrectly.
Thanks

When a unit of mixed protected short Spearmen and unprotected Bowmen are used in this list can the Bowmen be treated as Combat Shy and the Spearmen as NOT combat shy.
Since this is a somewhat unusual formation it seems reasonable to allow this exception.
Thank you in advance,

I understand that mounted units which have the dismountable option that has been paid for can start the game dismounted during deployment at the owning player's option.
I understand that any mounted can dismount if they are within 6 base widths of a fortified camp/obstacles and such. In that case they would be penalized as combat shy.
IS IT the case that mounted units that have paid for the dismountable option can dismount whenever they wish using a colored card or are there some limitations I have NOT found in the rules?
Thanks, in advance for your help.

My understanding is that the 2023 Historicon MEG games will be in 25mm.
Can anyone answer the following questions:
What will the Tabel Top size be?
It was 5 feet x 8 feet in WRG/Warrior BUT I am unsure as to the Tournament size for MEG in 25/28mm scale.
Will there be any army list point changes for 2023?
I assume it will not change.
Thanks for the update and Wishing All of you a Happy, Safe, Heatly, Sane and Game Filled New Year.
