Quote from: lionheartrjc on May 11, 2026, 02:58:04 PMNo points system is perfect.
I can remember quite many people who argued to me that points alone balanced the system, it is refreshing to see such a radical departure.

As for the army as a whole, I believe that having units able to skirmish/run away to slow down potentially multiples UGs at low cost is exactly the kind of force multiplier that can allow an army to function (e. g. attack with a schwerpunkt and still not be flanked to quickly, slow down the enemy schwerpunkt while my massive tribal army redeploys, etc. etc.).

Therefore, why would it be a "worry over an individual unit" ? It affects the way the army functions a whole, it is not an insignificant matter.

Hey Claudio,

I noticed two  points in your chart :
  • Missile-focused DC (but not CL, do not ask me why, no idea ^^) have free charge in conditions that would result in a forced charge were they not missile-focused
  • Answering "yes" to any question in your "big block" means the UG has a free charge nevertheless

OK, but a forced charge that goes straight ahead during step 2.3 is not a prompted move, is it ?
#6
Thanks Nik, I think I see better.

Does it also that, in example above, UG B may not do any prompted move in subsequent turns that might allow it to regain formation, such as a move forward (assuming UG Y does not come back close ?

What about charging again at UG Y ? If yes, do we differentiate between a prompted charge from more than 1 MU away and a forced charge ? What about free charge ?
#7
That would mean that not only could UG B (as pictured in attached schematics) declare its charge (that I get), but also resolve its charge movement even if it does not reach its target and does not end its charge movement in combat or contributing as a supporting file (and thus nominally bound to follow formation rules), all that while being in an illegal formation .

I get that rules for formation are not applied for UGs in combat, but that is not the case here.

Furthermore, it means that UG B could stay in its (illegal) formation as long as it does not move, even though it is neither engaged in combat or contributing as a supporting file.

Are my interpretations correct ?

Best,
Antoine

It can appear peculiar I understand, but it is in accordance with the rest of the combat rules which is resolved file by file, it could be mentioned, at least in passing, when teaching a new player combat rules. They might not remember it, but would not be surprised when used against them (which is the best teacher anyway ;D)

They do not have to, but they might.

Quite a number of LSp-armed forces and seen their maximum revised.

As for this case, going from 24 to 27 will not change anything for people fielding them by 6s (still 4 TUGs) or by 8s (still 3 TUGs), so is it that big of an issue ?

Exact value will depend on the price asked by the school for the room, but should be about 55-60€, with both breakfasts and both lunches included.

It varies whether the charger is a friend.

If charger is from same army as the SUG, then the SUG does not stop the forced charge and is trampled to death (and removed from game) when chargers move.

If charger is from SUG's opponent's army, then the SUG is a target for the forced/free charge (reminder : a SUG does not a trigger a forced charge from a TUG, although TUG may choose to declare the charge for free) and the charge is resolved normally.
