thanks for that. Not how I 1st read it but increasingly I was suspecting that was what was intended. Probably a comma in the main book would help there.
thanks again

Rules say get bonus if shooting at unprotected TUG or unprotected SUG <= 1BW

Does that mean that in EITHER case you have to be within 1BW to get the bonus OR does the <= 1BW only apply to the SUG?   There is no comma in the rules so i read it as applying to both but the example on the next page shooting between immortals and Levy implies that is not the case......  possibly.....

Thanks for that. I think I misread point 7 on page 91 to mean sub generals had to be a part of a unit. Of course it actually says they have to join a command, not join a unit.

I understand sub generals must be a permanent part of a UG?

I get the impression from the rules though it does not appear to be explicitly stated, that if the UG is involved in combat the attached general can fight in the front rank or stay in the rear.
If he fights in the front rank he adds 1 claim but may get killed. More importantly all orders to other UG's count as out of command
If he stays at the rear he can issue orders normally and is only at risk if the UG is routed.

Is the above correct or did I get it wrong?

thanks I am very keen to give it a go

charge and shoot  -  looks like you just roll as normal to shoot. As most with charge and shoot seem to be unskilled against for example an average opponent this would mean only a black dice, it that correct?

Brilliant thanks for that.

Does anyone have an index for the rule book?  for example I am now looking for Shoot and charge and can't find it.  There is a reference under shooting to it already having happened, and I can't find it under charging

I see it mentioned briefly in the rules but I can't see what it applies too?

The closest I can guess is if a TUG charges a SUG and catches it because when it evades with a skirmish or run away move it does not manage to get far enough away.  I can not see a rule that states it but I think the SUG is under these circumstances removed without any fight taking place?  Is this called bursting through?

I suspect I have missed something in the rules. I have read through a few times now and can't find it  :(

any help greatly appreciated

I am confused about the pacto army lists. If a pacto TUG is 2 bases is that generally 2 bases side by side or behind each other?

I think i will go with Magna and use an impetus bases as a 2X2 unit of 4 bases.  I think it would be messy trying to carry out redressing ranks and turning individual bases within a TUG to face flank or rear if the actual unit of models are all on 1 base, but I think with a few markers I will manage?

Gents,
I have 2 questions regarding playing MeG with Impetus bases, approx the same as 2 DBA bases X 2 DBA bases

Q1  -  Does it work best using the bases for Pacto, Magna and MAximus, how many bases do you count the Impetus base as?

Q2  -  If for example you count an Impetus bases as 4 bases 2X2 then I can see you can markk off wounds and casualties quite easily, BUT what about more complex issues like turning end files to the flank, files on the end pf a charging TUG moving on an additional 1BW if they can then meet another enemy TUG?  Whilst you can put markers on a large Impetus base to represent losses how do you represent all the file direction variations that are possible if you are using more common DBA type bases?
