Current situation is 5 players. The plan is if I get 6 to do a preset draw. What I am thinking if it stays at 5 players, if players still want to play 4 rounds, I will bring another army to the competition, in which case the bye player will get his actual score from that game. Otherwise he can get a maximum of 10 points from the bye up to the final round, where the bye will be averaged across his other scores in the competition.

I think Sugs should be able to charge the flank or rear of Tugs that are affected or badly affected and in rough or difficult terrain, not the front.

List deadline, I'm going to be flexible and say any day between the 16th and 22nd of June. This is to give as much time as possible for you to decide on your lists for the competition.

All armies in the Early Medieval, Later Medieval, Africa and the Americas pdfs from 900CE. That's 17 pdfs I believe.

There is merit I think in placing a restriction on the number of Melee Expert Legions in the Early Imperial Roman list that is similar to the allowance of Superior or Exceptional Tugs allowed in the Imperial Roman list but instead of cutting the number of Melee Expert Legions to 1/2 or fewer, allow 2/3 of the Legions in the EIR to be Melee Expert. I think the LRR being allowed all Melee Expert is perfectly reasonable, as indeed is having the MRR Legions as all optional Melee Expert to counter the fact they're close Legions.

Hi guys,
Just thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and announce the theme for next year's MeG competition in Limerick that I'm looking at is the Early Medieval, Later Medieval, African and American periods from 900CE.

The date is the 29th and the 30th of June 2024, ticket price is €35. The name of the competition is, Irish Open Mortem et Gloriam Nationals 2024.

Games 3 hours 15 minutes. If the Melee phase has not been reached when time is called, stop the phase you're in and do the Melees.

Email address is wordentommy18@gmail.com

Any army from the following PDFs dated from 900 CE.

Early Medieval - Arabia
Early Medieval - Britain
Early Medieval - Byzantium

Hi guys, just to confirm the timetable for the competition and the price.
The flexible timetable is Saturday: Round 1 9.30-12.45, lunch 12.45 to 1.45, then round 2 1.45 to 5.
Sunday each event is earlier by 15 minutes. If you wish to start the next game earlier than the allotted times on the table, that's no problem.
Price is €30.
Prizes for 1st (a slate with the words Irish MeG Champion 2023 on it), then prizes for 2nd and 3rd. Probably a wooden spoon as well.

Bump. Would anyone else be interested in attending the comp? An army or 2 could be provided if necessary. I'm happy to expand the theme as well to accommodate different armies as well.

The reason I'm not including the Late Japanese armies that are in the Renaissance pdf is because in my honest opinion, they are very obvious armies to take to a MeG competition that allows them, and it's my way of hopefully ensuring a very wide variety of armies in the competition. This opinion is based on the 6 of Superior Powerbow Melee Expert infantry and the 2 4s of Superior Skilled Powerbow Melee Expert Cavalry.
