Unfortunately one player has withdrawn due to family issues. This means we now have an odd number of players. We are offering a free ticket if someone wants to attend. The comp details are in this post. Appreciate this is short notice as the comp is this Saturday (May 16th). If intersted please contact me (Ian Newell) at i.newell1953@gmail.com as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance

List Queries / Viking Berserkers
April 20, 2026, 07:41:33 PM
The Viking list (3209) states "Note: Up to three TuGs of huscarls or hird may have 1 or 2 bases of berserkers to replace the normal bases"  Can berserkers be included in mixed TuGs containing Huscarls and Hird.

As people have asked for guidance regarding "Legendary"  have just posted

Havok on the Hamble – Definition of Legendary
The Oxford Dictionary defines a Legend as ..
1/. Someone described in or based on a character from a 'legend' such as Achilles or King Arthur.
2/. A character who was remarkable enough to be famous or very well known, who accomplished remarkable or outstanding feats.
3/. A character that leaves their mark on history through their deeds, actions or reputation.

For a named character to be 'approved' as Legendary they must
1/. Have left their mark on history through military success (eg Hannibal, Alexander, Julius Caesar, Timur)
2/. Have become a national symbol, with associated myth or statues ... (eg Robert the Bruce, Vercingetorix, Boudica)
3/. Have become a psychological symbol or representation of folk or popular belief. (eg above names).
Finally, please refer to the MeG Army Lists as issued by RJC, an outstanding work which contains histories and historical campaigns and battles. If your proposed legendary character is not mentioned in the appropriate army list, suggest it has a high probability of been rejected
Note : The them for 'Havoc on the Hamble' is "Myths and Legends", hence the Legendary character may be historical or mythical (eg King Arthur, Saint George...)

List Queries / Scottish Dismounted Men-at-Arms
December 28, 2025, 12:02:43 PM
In the Scots-in-France List (5507). the Scots-in-France list (5531), and the Scottish lists in the Kings in the North,  dismounted Men-at-Arms are specified as Average.
In the Medieval French list (5507), the Scottish Men-at-Arms are specified as Superior in the Scottish contingent. Is this valid ?

That's great - thanks Richard

In List 5417 (Early Tudor) the French pikemen are specified as a max of 16, with unit size of 8. Is there a reason that these are not 18 (max) with a TuG size of 8,9 ??  These figures seem ok if there Pikes are converted to Halberdiers/Billmen but seem odd given that all other pikes seem to have a option for unit size of 9 ??
