Title: Western Han mixed Tug Units
Post by: Roger on December 14, 2019, 10:28:49 PM
list gives "Close fighters with ji" 16 bases and "Crossbowmen" 18 Bases, next paragraph gives option of 1/3 close fighters and 2/3rds missile men, if you choose this option then close fighters have to be "all or none" Question is where do the extra 14 bases of missile troops come from to allow you to do this???

Ah, I think this is a subtle one.

I believe you take the allowed numbers as the minimum and maximum allowed in total and ignore how they apply when fielded separately. So, taking the conscript troops, in effect you have 18-48 bases allowed for mixed formations. In this the Han differs from some other lists where a list note says the troops may be combined in a mixed unit - the Han list says "regrade".

If I'm wrong it just means you can't use all the ji armed troops  ???

You don't get the choice not to use some Ji its all or nothing, so i think it must mean regrade the total troops i.e 18-48 into mixed tugs but hopefully god will make a ruling  ;D

That is indeed the intention.  18-48.  Actually it probably should say "Regrade Conscript Army Infantry" rather than "Regrade Conscript Army Troops".
Similarly, for the Standing Army it is 0-30 (because of the UG size).  Again, it should say "Regrade Standing Army Infantry" rather than "Regrade Standing Army Troops".

I had wondered about the regrade description but thought it was pretty obvious what was meant - best to correct though  8)
