Title: Lydians
Post by: IanN on December 10, 2019, 09:37:50 AM
Reading accounts of Cyrus's campaigns, particularly against Croesus of Lydia. At the decisive battle of Thymba, the Lydian army is stated to include chariots and Egyptian spearmen but no Greeks (as these had been disbanded into winter garrisons after Pteris).  Neither of these troop types are provided as an option in the Lydian list and asking whether they should be. Previous army lists from other rule sets have included light two horse chariots as an option.  The Egyptians may have been and appear to have been spearmen only, suggesting mercenaries under their own commander rather than an option for a Saitic Egyptian ally.

Bumping this query about Lydian chariotry - any consideration given to adding them to the list?
