Title: ISIN-LARSA AMORITE SHIELD
Post by: jwb14feb on November 02, 2019, 06:14:56 AM
Hi when the militia spearmen upgrade from unprotected to protected the 'regulars' appear unaffected.   This makes tribal flexible protected almost 20 points better than formed close unprotected shove shieldwall.  Is this a purposeful differentiation?  In appreciation.

It is intentional.  The "regulars" are optional.  The argument is that these armies became more influenced by Elamite and Hurrian tribes the army over time and the regular component diminished.  This is the "feel" for this army.  The historical justification for this could probably be challenged but our sources (as for many armies) are pretty thin.
