Who is out there in the good old US of A playing MeG (or ReG?)
Rob Smith, Austin TX - There are at least six of us who play pretty regularly, either MeG or play testing ReG, as well as that many who have played a few times, but are too busy to play more.
Steve Penn - Frederick, MD
Haven't been to a game convention in over a year; only playing solo lately. I'm using the board game Imperium Romanum III as a campaign to generate MeG battles.
I'm here in Tampa. I have some occasional opponents, but, mostly I am a lone voice in the wilderness.
Dave Lauerman, Northern California
I live in Salinas, but do my gaming in Saturday at the Game Kastle (technically in Santa Clara CA, but we are basically a San Jose group). We have a decent group. 4-6 show up most Saturdays, 10-12 show up for tourneys (usually), and we have 15 people on our email list, so we have some seldom seen peripheral players as well. We seem to be growing slowly, but steadily.
BTW we have a tourney planned for 11/16 (3 rounds @10K points, one day event) so if you want to play, come on down. We'd love to see you and your army!

There are two moderate sized connventions in Orlando. One in the spring, another in the fall. I am willing, now that my health issue is behind me, to run games to raise visibility.
Dave Smith-Kansas City, middle America, but mainly solo.
Gunnar Sorem, Houston area getting a few friends to try the game soon
Please count me in the Austin crew despite my poor attendance. The pandemic intervened with my intentions to play more.
Welcome all.
The game is about to hit the shops properly stateside.
Sadly no historical for the big event launch :-(
But we will do something as a gathering at the first opportunity.
Simon
John Harrel here in Santa Clarita Ca (Northern Los Angeles, CA). Officer in HMGS-PSW.
Welcome, John! When things open up again, maybe we can invite you up to the South Bay and you can join us for a game in San Jose at the Game Kastle!
Kentucky joins the fray. Just ordered the Rules Compendium Boxed set and hope I can get some local interest going.

Welcome aboard, Tom.
Welcome aboard all. Now the stock is hitting the USA I hope we will gather many more. Alas the lack of the shows has a bigger effect in the USA than elsewhere. But we are growing strongly with a lot of sets shipped to the USA recently. Happy days.
And Historicon next year we can have a. great gathering! Numerous European people planning to be over too.

Hi,
Phil from Chicago here. I haven't played a game in a few months. It's a little bit sad as I just completed two 10,000 point historical armies in 28mm - Sassanids and Romans (ca. 3rd century) - and was looking forward to gaming with them.
Also, sadly, I'm between jobs, so can't get the Aventine Byzantines and a few more late Sassanids to build those as historical opponents....
Regards,
Phil
We feel your pain, Phil. I just last week finished a new First Crusade army and it may be months before it sees the table. It's KILLING me!
Solo games. After all, it is the getting the toys on the table bit that is what really matters :)
Note I am doing weekly tuition webinars for different places around the world. For new players but a few old hands or out of practice welcome.
Next Wed Aug 5th at 4pm ECT for North America.
Probably Aug 12th for Far East
Aug 19th focused on young players.
Aug 26th on French speaking nations
Drop me an an email if you want to be invited.

Hi All,
Joe Moore, John Desch, Eric Lauterbach, and Sean Mackintosh from Northern Virginia and founding members of I-95 Gamers. We've been playing MeG over a month now and think it's great! Also associate members Allen Smith in Madison, Wi; Randy Elliott in upstate NY near Syracuse; Tom Burgess of Tennessee; and our personal miniatures supplier, Bob Rossi, owner of C&B Miniatures of Cape Cod, MA.
We are present at all HMGS East events and look forward to whenever the next one is held - news today says at very least next Historicon is planned for Lancaster, PA next summer! We'll look forward to playing in whatever tournament occur through HMGS and any local to the DC area.
Look for us on the web and here on this forum.

Very cool. Bob Rossi is one of my favorite vendors and a real gentleman also.
I like the idea of I-95 Gamers! :)
Just to let everyone know that both US retailers sold out.
We have repeat orders for 25 Compendium box sets and 25 Army box sets.
So we are gaining players in the USA fast.
Si
Good news indeed.

A warm purple welcome aboard.

Great rules! I just cranked out a Magna-size Viking Army for 1066 in about a week - 206 figures. Next come the Anglo-Saxons and Normans. Will try to post a few photos...
-Joe
Hey Joe,
Welcome aboard the purple revolution. Enjoy! Any questions just post them into the discussion forum.
Maybe see you at Historicon when it's allowed again. Keep spreading the good news.

Hi all,
I'm Morgan Conrad, living in the Seattle area. Played lots of WRG 5,6,7, DBA and DBM, mainly in the 1980s and 1990s in California. I have several 15mm armies tucked away in the crawlspace.
I'm totally new to MeG, in fact, just ordered the rule set today, on the recommendation from a friend. Looking forward to checking it out and, once it's safe to travel again, meet any gamers in the Pacific Northwest.
Welcome Morgan.
Welcome, Morgan! We finally found a way to bring you home to Ancients, where you belong.
Glad to hear that you playing again. We have a small group in Portland. We are planning to hold couple tournaments if at all possible. Sometime in the summer and fall.if your in our area let me know and we get game in
Dale
Hello all. Just ordered my rule set. Been "lurking" for awhile and decided to take the plunge. Located in upstate NY. Have many medieval armies that I'll be using to play with these rules. Looks very intriguing.
Welcome.
Well, now I have two vaccine doses, as do several friends, looks like we will be getting to playing some more again here in sunny Austin, TX. Probably will start in April!
Good news! I'm not eligible yet, but I'm hoping for mid month.
Bruce H. in Madison WI. RN so got vaccinated in Jan. Just gaming with my son right now. PACTO 15mm Biblicals, PACTO 28mm Burgundian/French -maybe can do MAGNA with these as Impetus bases, and yet to put together my 20mm PACTO Carthage/Rome figs and expand them to MAGNA.
Do you mean... there are more topics other than rules lawyering? ;)
Francis Small up here in northern California - Santa Rosa. Hoping to start joining the San Jose crowd on an irregular basis when life returns to the new normal.
A warm welcome to all. I am sure Historicon 2021 in November will be a great gathering where we can gain many players stateside. Si
Hello everyone, my name is Tyler from Northern Utah and I've only recently started getting into Historical wargaming. So far I've got a couple 28mm Pacto armies, mostly unpainted, Classical Greek and Thracian Hill Tribes. Looking to try and get a small MEG group going in Davis County, though Covid has definitely put a damper on that! I don't think I've ever seen anyone around where I live playing anything historical outside of WW2, so it is going to be a challenge. On the off chance anyone on this forum is from the area, let me know!
Hi Simon! Historicon is now in November at Valley Forge, PA as you've probably seen. This one appears to have a good chance of occurrence. We'll be there! -Joe
Maryland,
Morgan Conrad sounds familiar from 20 years ago when I lived in Berkeley....
Looking for nearby friendly players. I have mostly DBA armies, but many are triple size and would be ok for the smaller scale games.
Many Lurkio figures too!
Sold most of my 25mm though....too heavy for my back these days.
Tampa, I have the rules but have not played yet. I have ancients in 28mm and 15mm.
We play in South Tampa and are fully vaccinated.
michaelgluth,
What part of Maryland? I'm in Frederick.
-Steve
Denver, CO
We are building a group of players
Hey all,
I'm moving to Santa Cruz California in September, so up for a game if there's anyone in that area :-)
Chris
Chris, we have an active group based at the Game Ashley in Santa Clara. We play most Saturdays, and anyone who is vaccinated can ply with or without a mask. We had 4 players yesterday. ALmost everyone is going to Oregon for Ides of Martz in 2 weeks but other than that we are there almost every week. See you in September, I hope.
Just joined the board - anyone else in the Atlanta metro area?
Shawn
Michael Cobden in Culver City just got the compendium and a greek pacto. Absolutely new to ancients wargaming. Would love to find folks who might want to play in the LA area.
New player here (Michael Porter) in NYC. Waiting on my rules but pretty excited by what I've seen and the possibility of Pacto games filling the DBA void. I used the run The DBA Gamer blog back in the DBA heyday, took a break and saw that DBA here is pretty much dead and the ancients scene is pretty much Balkanized. Hoping the community can crystallize around MeG! Any players around the NYC metro area?
I'm reposting my interest in the system. I have been painting and coming up with lists for some time now.
I am in the Austin TX area and close to Game Kastle.
It seems like there is zero interest, which is very sad.
I'm in the Dallas, TX area. Recently moved here and have several painted armies. Used to play MeG a few years ago. Even hosted a game at Historicon a few years ago; recreated the Battle of Catalaunian Fields.
Any Players in West Michigan?
