Title: External Allies with Royal Guards or equivalent
Post by: peter c on September 08, 2019, 10:08:17 AM
Hi All,

What is everyone`s view on the following

When you use an external ally with compulsory Royal Guards or equivalent, I think these should be an option rather than compulsory for an external ally force.

He's saying why do they have to be I think, not that they cannot be.

ahh, OK, misread

the size of the problem

as far as i can tell, there are 5 armies with a troop type containing the word 'royal' with a non 0 minimum

Syro-Canaanite
Urartian
Khazar
Anuradhapura Kingdom
Richard III English

only 3 of those turn up as allies

Syro-Canaanite
Urartian
Anuradhapura Kingdom

in a total of 5 main lists
Hittite Empire
Mitanni
Mannaian
Phrygian
Tamil Indian

so this is only an issue if you take 1 of those 5 main lists, and then choose to take the ally with royal troops

so probably not worth making a rule for

..or if its  guard that is the issue

there are 4 armies with non 0 minimums of troops with the word guard in the description

Achaemenid Persian - Royal Army
Andalusian
T'ang China - Nanyajun
Early Tudor English
