I know they were as rare as rocking horse poo, but they are mentioned in the notes, but not in the main list, should there be Scottish knights?
Hoblairs, yup, get them, but no knights, not even those lowland lords that held other property?
After Methven in 1306 which is where this list starts, I can find no examples of Scottish knights fighting mounted. They dismounted in the front ranks of the spear units. The allowance in the list of a small body of separate dismounted knights is probably incorrect too.
The small body of horse at Bannockburn which allegedly routed the English longbows is also open to doubt but if they existed where lighter equipped troops of lesser horse.
If you really want a body of knights then the best theory is that rather than it being the small folk coming over the hill it was in fact a group of Teutonic Knights who were given refuge by Bruce in Scotland after fleeing from France. Bruce was of course excommunicated at the time. They took up residence and rode to out to support the Scottish army.
Re: "The allowance in the list of a small body of separate dismounted knights is probably incorrect too. " .... agreed have found no evidence of them other than front ranks of yeoman/spear
Re: "The small body of horse at Bannockburn which allegedly routed the English longbows is also open to doubt but if they existed where lighter equipped troops of lesser horse." .... have taken these as been Hobilars, and am ok with longbows been routed as most of their friends where so may not be very keen to hang around !
It's not Teutonic knights, it's Knight's Templer! :P :-*

Dupplin Moor : 1332 - both Domhnall Earl of Mar and Robert Bruce were described as charging at the English with their men-at-arms, which the Lanercost Chronicle specifies as 'about' 2,000 men-at-arms. Not found anything later
