2 lines of battle not conformed ( whatever the reason )
The units are fighting on an hill/mountain but perpendicular to the top
A supporting file could be nearer the top and so "uphill" but it is considered fighting as if facing the opponent's file frontaly same plosition as the file it supports . Does it get the uphill bonus ?
Second case : the files not having conformed ( for whatever reason ) one file facing an opponent's file will be "higher" nearer the top as part of it's base is not 100% touching the opponent's base . So "overlaps" it . It that "uphill" base considered "uphill" for impact, melee ?
If my description is not understandable I'll try to sent a picture
A supporting file could be uphill. It would get the claim for being uphill.
If a file is uphill because it chooses not to align (whether it could or not) it is uphill.

Thank you

I thought it claimed as if it was in the position of the file it is supporting.

Correct. The two statements are not incompatible. (If the file it is supporting is uphill, then the supporting file will be uphill).

So in the OP the supporting file wouldn't get the uphill bonus.

So what is the final official ruling for a supporting file if the supporting file is uphill from the fight it supports ?
Is it uphuill or not considering that it fight s "as if " facing the opponent
There is no such thing as "official rulings" except the Compendium Clarries v13 21-12-2022 topic.
Here are the relevant rules:
Page 82. 6.G:5.1. The supporting file calculates its claims as if it were fighting the target base in the position of the friendly base it is supporting. (Note 6.O:3.3 changes this for being affected or badly affected by terrain).
So the supporting file can claim for uphill if the base it is supporting is uphill.
Page 86. 6.O:4. If the fighting edges of files are not aligned, each player may choose to use either their own base or the opponent's fighting edge as the line of fighting.
Terrain table. Uphill combat claim - if entirely on slope and nearer centre/ridge than opponent. So if ridge lines are marked, you have to be on the nearer side of the line of fighting than your opponent. If no ridge lines are marked, you have to be nearer the centre of the hill than your opponent.
Thank you
