Simplifying engaging in melee when already in contact
We would suggest that a TUG corner to corner contact with an opponent and "engaged" as a supporting file only could move 90° to engage the flank of the enemy TUG ( simplicity )

I assume this would be in the movement phase and not treated as a charge.
Will add this to the list of possible future changes.

simplicity would be leaving the rule as it currently stands.

yes movement . For some reason or another, we played it that way for years . Then it either changed or was clarified and so could not be done anymore .
But it seems "strange" and counterproductive not to allow it if there is space, enough movement distance
Again, good for speeding up play
If the goal is simplify then maybe just specify that a UG can provide a supporting file without becoming 'engaged'. Then the unengaged TuG is free to move, probably onto the flank of the unit they were just overlapping.
Why not Years ago we played it that way
