Just want to clarify. Unit of close order infantry with 3 UG move is 7 UGs away from some cavalry. (ie out of charge range). A unit of flexi cavalry is circa 2 UGs away from the infantry (ie within the infantry charge range).
The close order infantry charge the flexi cav. Flexi cav evade. The Cavvalry 7 UGs away can declare an interception despite being out of charge reach at the beginning of the move. The cavalry interception move takes them 4 UGs forward. The infantry have to charge full charge reach. Cavalry interception unit hits infantry and counts them moving.
Is this correct ie you can intercept from outside charge reach etc.
Yes you can. It is a move to place your unit in the charge path of an enemy unit - reaching the charge path is the important bit.
However, note that intercepts are moved before Run Away/Skirmish moves (2.4 and 2.5 in the sequence respectively) which could affect your example depending where the flexible cavalry were (i.e. they could have prevented the interceptors actually reaching the charge path).
Thanks Nik.
