Title: an ally from a list which has multiple 'nation options'
Post by: tarnowski1 on April 27, 2025, 10:25:32 PM
I think this has been asked before.. but cant find it

for example when a list says 'classical Greek allies' with no specific Nation, can you use any named or unnamed Greek Nation or must it be generic non-nation specific?

Romano-Moorish says 'A Romano-Moorish allied contingent in another army cannot be from a kingdom named in this list unless specified'

wording choice has differed over the years as updates have happened so wondering what the usual interpretation is.

If no specific nation is named, then any national option may be taken.
The Romano-Moorish example is where this does not apply - hence the note.

Hello,

To add to Richard's answer : in the other specific case you mention, list 2401 states : External allies must specifically
name Thebes, Thessaly, Aitolia, Arkania and Phokis to use these options

Thanks Richard and Antoine. I grabbed the classical Greek as an example without too much thought as I didn't want to use the one I was actually interested in as its for an upcoming competition  :)  ;)
