Hello fellow wargamers,
As the primary coordinator for the Ides of Martz - West Coast Championship, I asked Nik Gaukroger to provide commentaries on the army lists of the participants. Nik is well known for his legendary commentary on other rule sets, and we are privileged to have his input. I have found his notes to be both entertaining and informative. In his opening remarks on one of my old lists, Nik wrote, "This army was created with a plan in mind...I just don't think it was a very good plan.". He was right.
I have attached Nik's commentaries on the army lists for this weekend's Ides of Martz - West Coast Championship. Updates on the tournament to follow.
Thanks,
Dale Shanek

Fantastic sentences from Nik G. ;D
And good comments.

I'm interested to know now that the comp is done what, on reflection, the players think of what I said. Where they agree and disagree :)
Comments on the comments;
1) I am still smiling about both Nik G and Simon H had to look up my army to see what it was. I wanted to get off the beaten path, and succeeded.
2) I think I disagree with Nik that the army needs some skirmishers. I tried it that way, and all they did was screen better shooters (I run the army VERY Shooty). The terrain I like on my flanks sort of holds itself.
3) Other than that, Nik was completely correct- the army lives or dies with the hefalumps.

Hardly a great piece of insight though :P
Hmm ... yes I think that one probably spotable.
Although some more interesting commentary on other armies.
A good read. Maybe post hit here with the armies.
