Has anyone got a copy of this, Journal of Medieval Military History vol 12 (2014)
https://books.google.ge/books?id=yjA3BAAAQBAJ&lpg=PA107&dq=medieval%20georgian%20armor&pg=PA89#v=onepage&q=medieval%20georgian%20armor&f=false
it has a chapter describing Georgians using couched lance rather than bow as their main weapon well after 1250. But the preview doesn't show all the pages....

Its available on Academia.edu - https://www.academia.edu/7781595/Couched_Lance_and_Mounted_Shock_Combat_in_the_East_The_Georgian_Experience
Thabnks Nik, interesting read, it clarifies 4 commands were used until the 18th century. and implies that some of the guard cavalry at least perhaps should be devastating chargers, if my understanding of that category is correct.
By the look of the MeG list for the Georgians, it is based on the old DBM list, has it been updated with more recent sources?
