We had a small MAGNA tournament in Bucharest this weekend. It was originally planned for 8 players, but unfortunately we had a late drop off, so we had to do it in 7 players.
Iulian was randomly selected to get a bye in the first game, with the last placed eligible player getting a bye in the remaining games.
Since we have almost exclusively 28mm armies, it was a Magna tournament, with 7500 pts armies. The lists are posted below.
We played 4 games, 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.
We normally play in period, so this time it was Early Middle Ages, 650 AD to 1075 AD.
As usual it was great fun, and everybody had a good time, a real pity that we could not be an even number. I was surprised how good the Bahrain Qarmatians were, extremely tough to break.
Very happy about the performance of the Viking-Norman list, as it's a combo of my favourite factions and I was happy to hear RJC suggest it in the podcast about allies, since I was not sure it would work, but his comments (even if less than enthusiastic) convinced me to try it. It worked in this case.
Also a shoutout to 14 year old Robert, who spent 2 days among us old geezers, and put in a very honourable performance.
I attached the results here and will try to post the lists below.
Next one should be in Early December, 1075 AD - 1330 AD.
