Does the 'North Welsh ally- Medieval Welsh' conform to the North Welsh contingent ally rules in the Medieval Welsh list? The 'Northern Welsh contingents do not need to take archers and spearmen (Welsh, best Welsh, Cynanor Merioneth) must outnumber archers/skirmishing archers by 2:1.'
Given how this Welsh list causes headaches every time, I thought I'd ask, just to be sure :D

However, I would note that the note about allied contingents is written in such a way that it can, IMO, be read as just talking about internal allies ...

The North Welsh contingent in a Feudal English list is not an internal ally, but is still a Northern Welsh contingent.
For the ally, a minimum of 9 Welsh spearmen and 6 best Welsh spearmen must be taken. The Welsh archers are not compulsory.
The spearmen (Welsh spearmen, best Welsh spearmen or Cynan or Merioneth spearmen) must outnumber any archers taken by 2:1, so an ally consisting of 9 Welsh spearmen, 6 best Welsh Spearmen and 8 Welsh archers would not be legal (as the archers would not be outnumbered 2:1 by spearmen ( 15 : 8 ).
