A question that was raised on WhatsApp - since nobody has yet raised it here despite wanting an official ruling, here it is so that there can be one.
Some infantry TUGs in the two Ming and Joseon lists can add Experienced Guns, this includes TUGs who already have a missile capability so this replaces their "base" shooting capability.
In the special rule there is the following:
Quote
Note that a file may only fire once and the file with the artillery must choose whether to fire the artillery or to fire the bow, crossbow or handgun in that file instead.
The question is, that if the file chooses to shoot as Bow/Crossbow/Handgun whether the base that has the Guns capability* shoots as Bow/Crossbow/Handgun or whether it cannot now shoot - this can obviously affect the number of bases in the file shooting and thus the colour of the die.
* and has not abandoned them obviously
FWIW I feel the wording of the special rule says that a base with Guns cannot shoot if the file is shooting as the other missile capability, however, I am not sure what the intention is and the wording may need a tweak for clarity.
A file can shoot only once so must choose but still shoots only once a turn
What did I miss
There is no suggestion being made that a file shoots more than once a turn.

THE INTENTION IS THAT THE BASE WITH GUNS CAN SHOOT WITH THE OTHER MISSILE CAPABILITY. Please suggest clearer wording.
How about:
"Note that a file may only shoot once and the file with the artillery must choose whether to shoot the artillery or to shoot as bow, crossbow or handgun in which case the base with Guns shoots as the rest of the TUG."

That's what I understood but not everyone understood it the same way
Something like that, right?

Clarified for the 2025 lists.

Hi All
A question
As the early Ming list only permits only 4 light gun bases i understand if I pick the regimental gun option I can only have 4 tugs with suchs guns.
or can I make more than 4 tugs with the regimental gun options ?
John
Only 4. A maximum is a maximum.
