A few years back I posted a query here about the historical reasons to limit the Catalan Company in Anatolia to 2 sub generals and no internal allied general (except for the Alans, which are made nearly useless for very sound historical reasons- no argument about that). Once the Catalans move to Greece they get 3 subs.
Nic Gaukroger kindly pointed out that the army was still quite playable with only 3 generals, and I have no doubt that a player of his legendary skill would find that true. Us duffers, though, would like a bit more flexibility. Anyway I wasn't asking for a change to the list, I was asking for a hint on what I ought to read so I could understand why the list authors made that choice.
I went back to repost a query on my original post, but the forum told me it was an old post, and wouldn't a shiny new post make me happier? So here it is, just in case the author wants to tell me where to look to find out why the Catalans only get 3 useful generals in Anatolia.
Thanks
Quite possibly one of those arbitrary decisions based on the list author's view on what the "feel" of the army should be - maybe because the company in Anatolia was tactically pretty direct and not into clever manoeuvre.
Thanks, Nic. Appreciate the response.
