Title: Some questions
Post by: Lagazzete on August 02, 2024, 10:07:03 AM

Hello. I am a very novice player. I have purchased the pacto rulebook and Im teaching my gaming group.
I have three questions about creating lists, tried to find both the forum and Facebook and I have not been able to resolve them.

I'm go to play Pacto Mid Republican Roman army.

1. If you wanted an internal ally you would have to cover 50% of Hastati/Princeps. That would be 3 bases in Pacto. But since the UGs must have two bases, I have to pay 4 bases for it to be legal. TRUE?

2. Pedites extraordinarii, this unit can have Orb. for 3 points. So why? No more one base allowed, and Orb only works if they have two rows.

3. What in the game the reason for internal allies? Its because I'm a newbie for sure 😃 but I don't see it. To save points on your command maybe?

1. True.

2.  Yes, well spotted.  This is because the Pacto lists are generated from the Maximus lists.

3.  Historical accuracy. For a competition game internal allies don't normally make sense.  The ally command does save some points.
