Title: How far does the CPZ extend to the sides?
Post by: KaiserFranz on August 01, 2024, 10:33:43 AM
I understood that the front edge of an UG extends a CPZ, a parallel line to the left and to the right.
This stops or limits enemy movement.
But how far does the CPZ extend to the sides?

It doesn't.  It extends 1 BW directly ahead from the front edge.  4.H (page 50).

Because of the alternate moving system there is no need for it to extend to the sides.  If you need to prevent an enemy UG getting past you, you need to act first, either by expanding your frontage or by wheeling to ensure the enemy UG has to enter your CPZ.

Thanks Richard for your swift answer as always.

I think we are talking about different things.

On page 47 in the Pacto rulebook there's a drawing where I made a hardcopy from part of it (please see attachment).

My question is refering to the dotted "CPZ line" and it's length

Now I understand the confusion.

The zone doesn't extend to the side, but the restriction if you enter the zone does.  If you are in or enter the CPZ then you may not cross the line extending the front edge of the UG.  There is no limit to how far sideways that line extends.  I hope that makes sense.
