P82 6G 5.1
"Calculate its claims as if it were fighting the target base in the position of the friendly base it is supporting."
If the Supporting file and the Friendly file are in different terrains
Should we calculate the effect of the terrain, based on the position of the Supporting file or the Friendly file
I think on the position of the Friendly file, but I am not sure
Thanks
Supporting files should really have a chapter for their own, for all situations, from charges to shooting to combat, to generals.

if the supporting file front edge is in terrain it counts the terrain its in. Digital compendium p86, 6.0. 3.3
3.
A base can be affected or badly affected by terrain for combat:
3.1. For a base rolling a dice or having a dice rolled against it, if any part of the line of fighting is in the terrain.
3.2. For a base contributing because it is providing a rank needed for a claim, if any part of the line of fighting is in the terrain.
3.3. For a base contributing a dice from a supporting file, if any part of its own front edge is in the terrain.
To avoid (even more) confusion I have deleted a couple of posts.
There is a an inconsistency in the PDF edition.
Page 82 and 86.
Page 82 says that the supporting file calculate its claims as if it were fighting the target base in the position of the friendly base it is supporting.
Page 86 A base can be affected or badly affected by terrain for combat: for a base contributing a dice from a supporting file, if any part of its own front edge is in the terrain.
Page 82 is the correct rule.
Thanks to Matt and Lawrence for pointing this out.
