A Pacto event was held over the weekend at Battlefield Hobbies, Daventry. I think at least 17 people attended and played Pacto games over the weekend (12 on Saturday and 14 on Sunday). Everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves.
It also demonstrated that Pacto is a proper game in its own right.
We had no issues with the rule revisions. One clarification is relating to the positioning of generals:
A general may either be attached to a single UG or standing alone. If attached, the general should be placed touching the UG if possible. If this is not possible, make it clear to your opponent which UG the general is attached to.
A general standing alone is displaced if contacted by UGs. Simply shift the minimum distance if contacted by friends or get an immediate free move if contacted by enemy.
If a general is attached to an UG, determine the distance from the general by measuring from the UG that the general is attached to. This applies to command distance, prompting through fire (see 7.I), for seeing a general killed (see 9.C) or recovering wounds (see 10.A).
A general may detach from an UG or move when standing alone by paying a command card to do so. When detaching from an UG, measure the movement distance from any point within the UG.
The remaining work on the rules is to ensure the tables and diagrams are correct. This may take a couple of weeks, so about another month to wait until the Pacto rules are released.

This is new? But anyway, gets a big thumbs up from me :)
I haven't tried the new Pacto rules yet, but several look to be significant improvements for a game I do enjoy but if I am being picky was slightly more swingy than ideal. Will try to get back to the club sometime soon and get you to school me!
