Title: PDF Edition Errata
Post by: lionheartrjc on January 15, 2023, 09:55:21 PM
1.  QRS Prompted Action Table - Drilled troops - Double Move - Requires a YELLOW card.  (18/1/23 Update - This has been corrected and we hope to get a new PDF out asap.  If you have already downloaded, this will be free).

2.  QRS Prompted Action Table -  M7 Expand while stationary -Tribal column - - Requires a YELLOW card.  (not RED).

3.  QRS Prompted Action Table - MF1 (also page 54 4.K).  The notes could be clearer.  MF1 moves can be used to create a new engaged file in addition to supported files, filling gaps, creating ranks and fighting enemy supporting files. For extra clarity, the new engaged file must be fighting and be adjacent (side edge to side edge contact) with an existing file or be in such a position that aligning (see 6.C) by either player would have resulted in the above situations. The existing file must be of the same UG and this applies to new supporting files.

4. QRS Prompted Action Table - F1 Control Pursuit – Formed Column – Requires a RED card (not YELLOW).

5.  Dismountable - All cavalry or camelry can dismount if they are within 6BW of enemy battlewagons, a fortified camp or UGs behind barricades or obstacles. Duplicate foot figures are required.

6.  Choose direction of skirmish or run away move before rolling VMD.  (5.L 3.2 and 3.3 on page 66 should be reordered). Note: A skirmish or run away may only end nearer to any enemy UGs charging if it entirely escapes the chargers' path of charge before adjusting for the variable move distance roll.

LATEST PDF/POD EDITION
The errors above have been corrected.

1.  QRS - F1 for drilled troops should be YELLOW.

2. Flexible Mounted in Skirmish Formation 3.B:3. Cause forced charges as SuGs and are themselves treated as SuGs for their own forced charges.  So flexible mounted in skirmish formation can only charge TuGs if they are within 1 base of breaking - the "finishing off move".

3. 5.N:3.1 - page 69  says "They may alter their direction if by so doing they can catch, or are attempting to catch, any UG that has moved position since their charge was declared due to a run away, skirmish, intercept, or countercharge. The change of direction may not exceed the limit of a 90° wheel at the beginning of a charge."  This should add charge to the list of reasons why the direction may be changed.

4. PACTO edition page 37, 3.B FLEXIBLE MOUNTED IN SKIRMISH FORM. Point 6 says "they need to be 3-deep to shoot at full effect (2 for Magna").  It should say "they need to be 2-deep to shoot at full effect".

5. PACTO edition page 69 - 6.F. 2.1 & 3.1 - RECOMMENDED - A shatter or shove should only be caused on an S result, not an S or Skull result.  Testing has found that bonus rolls on a Skull as well as an S result can make the effect too powerful.

6. PACTO edition page 92 - 9.4.3.  KAB tests for Poor troops roll should be YELLOW.

7. PACTO edition page 92 - 9.4.4.  KAB tests for Elephants/Battlewagons should be BLACK.

8. P86 6.O:3.3.  Should say "For a base contributing a dice from a supporting file, if any part of the front edge of the file it is supporting is in the terrain".  i.e. not it's own front edge.

9.  P53 4.J:2. Engaging in melee when already in contact. Should say "Troops who are already touching an enemy UG but are currently not fighting it are deemed too close and already too involved to charge. Instead, unless already providing a supporting file, they can create a melee combat in the movement phase in the following ways:"

CLARIFICATION.

For clarification there should be an additional bullet point in 5.C:4, p 58 - PDF Edition. or 9.4.C:1, p 118 Compendium Edition that indicates that troops that are missile focused with Devastating Charger get a Free Charge if they have enemy within 3BW directly ahead.

2:D.7 - An UG in a hesitant allied command cannot be tugged by a TuG in a non-hesitant command.

4.D.11 & 12 (pages 47 & 48).  M10 and M11 moves can redress ranks (as for M9).

4.D.12 (page 48) omits to mention that a TuG with Pikes cannot turn 90 degrees and move.  The QRS are correct.  (CHANGED BY 2026 COMPETITION AMENDMENTS).

4.E (page 49).  Moving a SuG with a TuG.  A SuG may move with a TuG that performs an M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, M7, M8, M10, M12, M13 or M14 prompted action.  Also M9 if turning 180 degrees, but not if turning 90 degrees.  The SuG cannot be moved with the TuG if turning 90 degrees using an M9 or an M11 prompted action.  It cannot be used with any other prompted action.

4.L:2 (page 55).  Fighting to flank or rear refers to an enemy UG in front edge or corner contact with the flank or rear of the UG, unless the file was hit in the flank by a frontal charge.  Keils cannot break off where an enemy flank claim is mitigated by their special rule.

QRS Shooting Table - Crossbow shooting where an S results in a wound clarified to read "S Results = Wound: Foot XBw standing to receive.  Only the files charged obtain the bonus".  (CHANGED BY 2026 COMPETITION AMENDMENTS).

Glossary Definition - Standing to Receive.  Pursuers should be added to the list of examples of troops that are NOT standing to receive (along with chargers, counterchargers, intercepts, skirmish and running away).  Page 106 - 8.D 10.4 confuses the issue but is redundant, even if charged by mounted they are still NOT standing to receive.

New Definition - Rear charges.  To qualify as a rear charge (against Keils) the charge must contact the rear edge of a file.  (Note: A rear corner is not sufficient to qualify as a rear charge).

Never explicitly stated in the rules - Troops that countercharge or intercept may not shoot in any phase.

Pushing back SuGs.  Relating to pushing back SuGs, "second move" refers only to the second move in an M14 Double Move.  An MF1 action in the movement phase will push back a SuG even if it is the second action made by the UG.

Appendix 1.L:6  Drop the words "Files of" from the begining of the sentence.
