In list 1215 (Trojan War Achaean), Pylian chariots under Nestor have a note regarding dismounting as Loose Foot etc. but have no Dismountable characteristic.
To align with the Early Mycenaean chariots (on which they are based), on List 1203, should this note be removed ?
Hi IanN,
I think this is if you regrade them they are "Dismountable".

Sorry, disagree. There are two 'notes' regarding dismounting, one for Pylian chariots with long spear, and one for the chariots regraded as javelin armed. The first does not have the Dismountable characteristic, the second does.
It is the dismounting of the long spear armed charioteers that I am discussing
Couldn't you dismount when facing a fortified camp and a few other specific cases?
Cv and Cm but not Chariots IIRC.
The note does not apply as the chariots cannot dismount. It shouldn't be there.

As in general chariots may and can dismount, a better way would be to state that not regraded Pylian charioteers may not dismount just to avoid confusion
No, the best way is as Richard states. The dismount characteristics are detailed below each line that can dismount (the new way troop notes are handled in the 2023 lists compared to previously) so that removing the excess line the issue is resolved.
