Title: Hills in MEG (Magma Ancients)
Post by: Ludwig on November 06, 2022, 03:08:35 PM
Had another enjoyable game of elephant's vs elephants and the superior ones won.

Something new to me came up.
My worthy opponent said that hills can have any terrain overlay allowed such as A rocky hill or a brush covered hill. By that he meant a hill can be call a rocky hill or a brush covered hill by the person placing that item of terrain.

I've NEVER played that way always assuming that the rules required hills to be terrain free.

AND I've always thought that hills should have terrain such as rocky or brush or even a combination which would be historical to the real world.

Would someone clarify this
Thanks, and wishing all of you a safe and happy Holiday season.

Have a look at the Terrain Table - Terrained Hills.

NB these are only allowed as Optional Items in the PBS terrain placement.

Just where is it stated that they are allowed only as optional terrain ( 8 X 8 BW ) and may not be included as a mandatory terrain ( 10 X 10 ) or do you intend to specify that they may be used as R or D terrain ( brush, woods, forest ) but the fact that they could be terraced hills is optional so it is not a terrain by itself but one combined with the original terrain ?

My problem being the word " optional "
