A question arose in our latest game.
A TUG of heavy horse archers was charged by another TUG of cavalry and wanted to make a skirmish/evade response. As the charge was from the flank the questions were:
• Can it skirmish shoot at another target other than the charger?
• Can it push back an enemy SUG in front of it while skirmishing
• Is a prompted action required to return to convert to non skirmish status
Thanks

A] It can shoot at another charging unit that comes within 1BW of its current position before it skirmishes/runs-away but it must prioritise the UG charging it (for instance 1 file may be able to shoot at part of the UG charging it).
B] Enemy SUGs may only be pushed during the Movement phase (and only during first moves if double moving).
C] No, the skirmish/run-away move is done in/as Loose formation (so based on the base movement of 5BW). It does not convert into a SUG formation (even if flexible).
