Sorry to bother but my mind is still confused thanks to covid
Very simple question
A "C"base is engaged to the front by "A"and on it's flank by "B"
A
CB
The phasing player chooses to start the melee by fighting with it's flank "B" base and kills the "C" base
Now that does not kill the TUG as it looses only one base but what can A do ?
Does it fight as if "C" was still there and "C" of course cannot "respond" as it is gone
If "A" was in overlap position due to "C" being gone could it fight as overlap as it did not fight before
I know I have the answer somewhere but cannot remember sorry
If the base is killed, should it have been removed? (Was it the only base in contact with B's UG?).
If it is removed then file A loses the opportunity to fight C, but still might fight as a supporting file.
Richard
I have my answer I was really tired because I realise now I had the answer all the time :-)
But still here is another one based on the situation
AAA
CCCBB
CC BB
C fight A frontally but also was contacted in the flank by B
If at the corner where A and B fight the same base, A kills the C base, the only base in contact with B ! does that base die and break contact with B ?
Sorry but it seems some of the things I learned over the years are difficult for me to retrieve from my memory
No, you cannot remove a base if it breaks contact with an enemy UG UNLESS there is no other base to remove without breaking contact with an enemy UG. Doesn't matter who is doing the fighting. The only time I have had that situation was with a fanatic UG...
OK thank you
