BIG game of 28mm Dark Age, a re-fight of the Battle of Fulford Gate 20th Sept 1066. It was a double Maximus game of roughly 22,000 points per side drawn up along historical lines, in so far as they can be surmised, that amounted to about 1,000 figures on the table.
The game was a close one in the end but resolved in a historically accurate victory for Harald Hardrada and Tostig Godwinson over Earls Edwin and Morcar. The final combat saw the last Anglo Dane TUG before the break point was reached dispatched as Tostig led the charge of his huscarls into the flank of the last isolated Northumbrian Fyrd unit in the now wide open centre of the battlefield.
