Title: The use of the card less and prompted Pass in Doubles
Post by: Roger on March 04, 2019, 12:45:07 PM
Was recently playing the BADCON doubles, could we have an official clarification of how to use the pass (both card less and carded) in Doubles, as in 4 games we had 4 different interpretations :-\

Maybe one for the tournament organiser to lay out for everyone in advance.  For me I'd see it as one army - so the 2nd pass for the team would see the end of the bound for the team.

QuoteThe doubles method:
1. Both players play at the same time.
2. Each can pass individually. Each individual players stop playing if they themselves pass twice.  So no need to coordinate. Therefore one player can have passed twice but the other player be still be going.
5. Floating generals go to one player to keep it two each, but I am sure most will consult prior to allocating. But a lot of the time people will choose not to have one to avoid the need.

Thanks for that i hadn't seen it, This was one of the variations we used, however it was very cumbersome and it didn't feel like a good evolution from the singles procedure, in singles if there is a pass on one side followed by pass in opponent the Turn is finished, in doubles you can have 7 Card less passes and game turn still not finished?

Felt the better of the two as otherwise requires more coordination and players accidentally pass themselves out as a team.
This version players drop out as and when until only one left.
But happy to go with player preference after trying it.  Not wedded to it.
