Title: Black Dice
Post by: Ludwig on February 17, 2022, 02:02:14 AM
The following came up during a game and we could not find the answer in the rule book:
When a player is UP 4 or more levels during combat dice rolls the opponent can only role a BLACK die.
If the player rolling a Black Die causes a Wound does that count OR is it the case that the only outcome can be an S for slowing effect?
That is, when you opponent is UP 4 or more levels what do you get with a Black die roll??

I understand that a black die Wound or S counts if the opposing player is up 3 or fewer levels.
Thanks,
Lenney

In combat when rolling a Black dice you read the results as normal - the Slowing effects only is a Shooting thing when you would, in theory, be rolling less than a Black dice; in combat if you would, in theory, roll less than a Black dice (applies to supporting files) then you roll no dice.

Ludwig:

Just to be clear, in combat:
If your opponent has 4 or more claims over you then you roll a black dice.
If your opponent has 1, 2 or 3 more claims than you then you roll a white dice.
If you are even or up 1 you roll a green dice....  and so on.

The only time black dice wounds don't count is in shooting when you are "sub-black", i.e. lower than a black dice.

And a black dice as supporting file that mus be lowered because it is a supporting file ?

Still "normal"black  or no dice as it would be useless?
