Title: Shooting at unprotected tug from more than 1 basewidth away
Post by: RudyJoubert on January 27, 2022, 12:32:03 PM
We had a discussion and disagreement regarding wether there is a diference when shooting at an unprotected tug and unprotected sug from more than one base width away.

my understanding is that you get the one colour upgrade when shooting at an unprotected tug from more than one base width away but need to be within one base width from an unprotected sug to get the same benefit.

The other party argued there is no difference wether you shooting at an unprotected tug or sug that is more than one base width away.

Any clarification on this please

Unprotected TUG : whatever the distance you get an upgrade for shooting vs "unprotected" as long as it is in shooting range.

Unprotected SUG : you get an upgrade if the distance is one BW or less so you measure from the shooter to the target is 1 BW or less you get the upgrade .

Of course you must be in the shooting arc.

I hope it helps

There is an entry covering this in the Clarifications document as it does come up from time to time.

The logic being that a mass of unprotected troops are vulnerable at any range whereas a scattered group of unprotected troops get vulnerable when you are so close you target a person rather than an area. A good reason why loin cloth armoured skirmishers would rather keep some distance ....
