Title: Allies for Dacians
Post by: mad lemmey on February 20, 2019, 01:06:34 PM
Interested to note that Iazyges (sic) are listed as Allies for Dacians, yet Wiki says they were on the Roman side...

Trajan's column shows the Romans fighting them - http://www.trajans-column.org/?page_id=107#PhotoSwipe1550669125761

I'll let you decide whether Wiki or the column is correct  8)

In wiki they stated that they were sometimes with and sometimes against Rome.
As buffer state at Roman border it was rather common

The Iaziges and the Roxolani seem to be both related to what we name "sarmatian".

The Roxolani were allied to the Dacian and took part of the 101-102 barbarian coalition and under king  Sugasus attacked Moesia .
So we know that "sarmatians" fought on the dacian side .

I did not find them as allied to the romans in the same campaign but my sources are a bit limited on the subject
