On my way back from a very nice tournament in Rueil, France. Couldn't help noticing that people interpret the 'with an enemy tug within 4bw no double moves' rule in different ways: some say you cannot do a double move at all, others say you can, but only up to 4bw of the enemy tug (so the second move is cut short). Perhaps this could do with clarification?
Never been n any doubt that the second interpretation is the correct one.
Yep, that's what I would say, but some don't agee. ???
They'd be wrong then I'm afraid. I'm wondering how they have come to the conclusion that a second move of a double move cannot go to 4BW away from an enemy TuG - neither of the moves in a double move needs to be the full theoretical move distance (no movement phase move of any sort needs to be). Knowing why what their logic is would help with any explanation that may be needed.
I think their logic is just a combination of bad reading and wishful thinking...
Anyway, next time that happens to me, I'll protest more vehemently.
Thnx
Next time time tell them that they are spouting rubbish.
