The current rule as per clarries is SuGs that charge into or that are caught by TUGs in good going
are broken immediately and removed from the table unless the TuG is within 1 base of breaking such that
the SuG could charge them. A TuGs charge then continues its full distance
Fairly straightforward it seems.
However in the common questions section of the clarries it adds A SuG contacted by a
TuG or contacting a TuG is not immediately destroyed if the SUG is ...already in combat...
I know that SuGS cant skirmish/run a way if already in combat, but I can't see anywhere in the rules that says that saves them from destruction.
Have I missed something, or is the answer to the question in the clarries an amendment of the rules?
It depends upon how you interpret the rules. One interpretation is that it doesn't actually say anywhere that they would be destroyed. The section on destruction (page 84) applies to SuGs being "caught" which can be interpreted as those that are skirmishing or running away. Hence the need for the clarification.

Thanks Richard.
It does seem like a rather obtuse definition of caught. The SuG would try to run away but is prevented/pinned by another unit.
But if that is how it is played, so be it.
