Title: mixed units and change of status
Post by: DracoStandard on August 31, 2021, 05:36:30 PM
This is one I think has been discussed before, but possibly on the old forum as I cannot find it...

Polish knights in mixed units (2 knights +4 mounted crossbow) have a horrible time and the knights are shot off leaving a tug of 4 mounted crossbow.

Can those crossbow now skirmish if charged - ie does the mixed TUG lose the the restrictions of the now dead bases?

Similarly

Mixed poor and superior troops - all the poor are dead, KAB on Green or Red?

beserkers in a viking TUG make the whole TUG subject to forced charges.  if the berserker dies does the rest of the TUG revert to calm and orderliness?

Can't recall anything that says they can't - unlike movement rates for mixed units there isn't anything saying they "remember" the lost bases.

The rules cover this explicitly and you KaB as the lowest quality only as long as any bases of them remain.

Same as the crossbowmen above.

are the crossbows still subject to forced charges as the Knightly elements were never 'missile-focused'?

also presumably as an intact unit the forced charge at 3bw still applies?

If they can evade when all the Lancers are removed then it would follow that they are no longer subject to Forced Charge - as I mentioned I think only movement rate for mixed units has a "memory".

Whilst they have any of the lancer bases they are subject to forced charge.

Ta, my post crossed yours so clarity existed before mine hit  ;)
