Recently there was a discussion about ambush on the FB group and from what I understood - the players are not supposed to show their army rosters at the beginning of the game (it would clearly make little sense to first show everything and then pretend as if something is hidden in ambush, or makes a "surprise" flank march). Also on pg 203 it clearly says that you just show the army lists, not the exact army composition with points.
So I wanted to ask how you guys do it - when (if ever) you show your army roster to the opponent? After everything comes to the table? How do you present your army and all the special rules of each UG?
I'm mostly interested in how you do it at the tournaments, where time is important and you don't have all day to talk about everything. What about controlling that your opponent does not mistake some of his own army's special rules?
I generally offer my opponent a copy of my composition list at the end of the game, so he can check points scored and make sure all was done with due propriety. Just a friendly gesture. Most people decline, but I offer it anyway. I do not think this is required, but OTOH if my list is wrong I'm better of knowing before the next round.
Our army lists (I play in the same area as AntiokosIII) are typically vetted by a 3rd party before tournaments. It's expected that any special rules are pointed out as troops are placed on-table. We all know each other pretty well, and given the pre-tourney vetting of the lists, I think that list issues are quite rare.
