Title: Suicide Squad
Post by: Francis Small on July 29, 2021, 04:39:34 AM
I worked out the factors for a foot SuG charging a cavalry TuG - is it really as bad as I think it is?

Assume a poor, combat shy foot SuG charging an average cavalry TuG (within a base of breaking) in the rear and in the open.

SuG claims:

Good start! But then I start counting up the cavalry TuG's claims...

...for a total of 7 claims vs. 4 for the rear charge, so the cavalry still gets to roll red vs. white when charged in the rear. I presume the cavalry gets all these claims even when fighting to their rear (QRS seems to support this), and it probably gets worse in melee.

Assuming they have the ranks, the skirmishers are probably better off just shooting - assuming I haven't missed anything.

Seems reasonable to me.   I cannot imagine any poor combat shy skirmisher wants anything to do with charging opponents.
