Can someone please clarify this rule (from Late Samurai):
"SPECIAL RULE: Murakami charging or being charged replace Powerbow with Experienced Firearms (note they can use Shoot and Charge characteristic in this situation only). This must be notified to your opponent when they are deployed."
How is this built into the points as Shoot and Charge does not appear in the stat line?
It appears to be a situational change of weapons - why is this notified to opponent when deployed as it appears a standard characteristic not a list choice?
The special rule has no affect on the points cost.
Because it is a special rule, it has to be notified to the opponent.
coming back to the topic : the rule says SPECIAL RULE:
Murakami charging or being charged replace Powerbow with Firearms (note they can use Shoot and Charge characteristic in this situation only). Samurai in mixed TuGs can shoot in one rank only. This must be notified to your opponent when they are deployed.
So when they use the firearms do they shoot one rank deep, two rank deep, skilled or experienced ? it is not mentionned in the rule

You replace Powerbow with Firearms, nothing stated to change about the shooting skill so it stays the same.
They are Samurai in mixed TUGs and, therefore, shoot in 1 rank only per the special rule.
