My general Question about a General follows:
Are there any situations which allow a General to move WITHOUT playing a card beyond getting out of the way of a charge/moving away from a broken unit and such.
A general can start the game attached to an UG or SUG.
The general moves with the UG or SUG.
a General upgrades a card to improve the movement or an UG or SUG...Must that General always move with the upgraded unit he is attached to?
IF a general is attached to an UG or SUG and does NOT upgrade a card can that General be left behind?
Is a Green card always required to detach a General from an UG or SUG or can a General be left behind at any point when the UG or SUG move?
IF a General is attached to a unit that is in combat can that General fight in the file he is attached to WITHOUT playing a green card? (Because he is moving to fight)???
OR is a Green card ALWAYS required?
Page 170 3. 3,6 "If an opposing general leaves fighting in combat then you get a KAB test on the UG or SUG left fighting without him..."
Are there PHASES in a TURN when a General can leave fighting without a KAB test on the UG or SUG being left???
Examples would be Charge Phase 2.1 "move generals independently" and During the Movement Phase.
Thanks for your help in Advance as I slowly improve my game.
Best,
Lenney
Responses:
A general is either attached to a file of a UG or independent. (A lot of players are sloppy about this - you cannot move the general from one file to another file unless he is displaced or you play a card).
An attached general that has upgraded a card for a UG (or block) has to move with that UG (page 105), otherwise an attached general doesn't have to move with the UG (so you don't need a card to leave the general behind). A general attached to a file can "fight in the file" without playing a card. He can leave fighting in the file at SP 2.1 or SP 4.3 in the turn sequence. A general leaving the fighting always results in a KaB test.
Ignoring outcome and evade moves, a general can only move once in a phase. So a general cannot move to join a UG in SP 2.1 and then charge with it in SP 2.6. It could however join a UG in SP 2.1 and then fight in the file.
Hope that helps.
