Do caltrops give melee combat claims or not? The QRS lists them as having melee combat claims, yet the rules for caltrops on p. 208 seem to state pretty clearly that they don't:
Quote
4. A TuG with caltrops can claim barricades combat claims against cavalry, camelry, chariots, and elephants in charge combat only.
The QRS is in error. The rules override the QRS.

I do agree that there might be a mistake and that caltrops do not give a combat bonus in melee but it was also always said that QRS supercede the rules as the QRS can be easely adapted, not the rulebook ! so lates version of QRS was always considered the thing to follow ...now there is a breach .
Have a look at Simon's answer which says that QRS is the reference or did I misunderstand ?

But I do agree, caltrops do not give a bonus in melee has always been so !

You didn't misunderstand. I think Simon's answer in this topic is too simplistic. The data in the QRS overrides the data in the rulebook - but the intention was never for the QRS to override the rules in the rulebook.
An errata entry would be helpful.
