In a recent game, a TUG of cavalry charged a weakened enemy and broke it on impact. The cavalry pursued during the Charge Phase 2.8. The question is : could the cavalry make a prompted move during the Movement Phase (4).
We ruled that they could not as - Page 80, Para: 14 - states that a UG makes a single prompted action per turn ... with listed exceptions; and it just felt 'cheesey' to do so.
However - if the cavalry did not need promoting (ie non-missile armed within 1BW or forced charge), page 80 implies that they would have been able to make a prompted move during the movement phase. Is this correct ? as it implies a greater level of control for forced chargers (eg lancers, warbands ...)
You cannot charge during the movement phase
Steve- thanks, got that, but that is not the question.
I think that this has come up before because I have a note. A UG that makes a forced charge cannot make a prompted action in the Movement Phase. Unfortunately the rules don't explicitly state this anywhere.

I think they do.
Universal Rule #14: "Prompted Action per Turn: An UG makes a single
prompted action or
charge per turn...
Good spot!

Depends if it's
"Prompted Action per Turn: An UG makes a single (
prompted action )or (
charge) per turn..."
or
"Prompted Action per Turn: An UG makes a single
prompted (
action or
charge) per turn..."
Great. Next time Mrs Hope asks if I want to eat apple pie or meringue for dessert, I'll have both. Nice one.
Thought you did that all the time Hunter and with chips on the side.
All deep fried :o
What about:
A charges B
A breaks in charge combat
B pursues
Can B then do a prompted action in the normal movement phase?
Yes it can as it did not charge or do any prompted move .
You can move if you didn't reform before pursuing. (Candidate for most obscure MeG rule?) See pp. 98-99 - 9.2C2: "UGs then pursuing may not make any further moves this turn." but again this is in the context of reforming. Normally you don't reform, so then what badhabum said.

Been referenced on the forum before, but I suspect isn't that well known and I think needs adding to one of the existing clarries for completeness.
