Note in Samurai list
"SPECIAL RULE: Muramaki charging or being charged replace Powerbow with Firearms (note they can use Shoot and Charge characteristic in this situation only). This must be
notified to your opponent when they are deployed."
Do they keep the Skilled grade from being skilled powerbow?
They retain their shooting grade. Because they swith to Firearms, they must be within firearm range to Shoot & Charge.
Out of curiosity, what type of firearm did they carry ?
Grenades IIRC.
Of Chinese/Mongol design.. irony
Yes they were a pirate naval clan that had a lot of contact with the mainland and pinched the idea for grenades.
Hand held ones pretty small.
But they also had some whoppers for naval battles.
Si
I have one more question about those allies.
Muramaki allies are depicted as mandatory mixed groups, either by 9 or 6 . The followers, if unprotected may have the "fleet of foot" characteristic. What would the use of it be as they are part of a mixed group and the samurai do not have that characteristic ?
They could use it if all the samurai bases have gone ...
Not going to happen often, but then again it is optional so who cares.
OK
And one last question :
The way the takeda, nobunaga and other lists wich have that very specific allies are written in a way there seem to be 2 interpretations : the wako allies are mandatory as there is a minimum of 12 bases mandatory ( samurai and followers ) or is that minimum mandatory only if the ally is taken ?
The latter IMO - because the internal ally line says "up to 1 Muramaki clan ally".
The current version of the Murakami bomb-throwing rule reads:
"SPECIAL RULE: Murakami charging or being charged replace Powerbow with Experienced Firearms (note they can use Shoot and Charge characteristic in this situation only). This must be notified to your opponent when they are deployed."
Is the drop in accuracy from Skilled Bows to Experienced Firearms intentional?
Thank you for the clarification!
(And sorry for the necromancy.)
Yes
