Ticket Info
Tickets are expected to be on sale by the end of January. To book in you need to first register on the UKGE (https://www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk) website and then navigate to the "Miniatures Events" page on the "Events" menu to select your chosen competition. This will not be live until towards the end of January
All Competitions are priced as 2-day events but you will also need to buy a UKGE pass for the days you are planning on attending as well. These are £22 for two days, with other options (3 days, family entry etc) also available for those of you who want to take part in some of the other UKGE events.
Ticketing is being handled by the UKGE team, and so if you have a query about ticketing please contact them via their Ticketing FAQ page , as we will be unable to help with any queries relating to tickets
We also have a page about getting to the NEC and how to book local accommodation - see the Challenge Venue Page (http://www.bhgs.org.uk/venue-info---the-bhgs-challenge.html) for details
Ticketing for the BHGS Challenge @ UK Games Expo is now live
Book tickets via the UKGE website.
As usual, players will also need a weekend pass to attend UKGE as well as their event entry tickets.
https://www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk/bookevents.php?subcat=bhg (https://www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk/bookevents.php?subcat=bhg)
The expo is open on Friday, and many of the other events and a huge number of open gaming tables are open from Thursday, so those of you planning on making a long weekend of it may wish to book longer UKGE passes to cover Friday or Thursday also.
With no "Take That" concert running at the same weekend this year, hotel prices are also considerably cheaper than in recent years, with Premier Inn & Travelodge - branded hotels currently showing as available for around £40/night only 10-15 minutes from the venue.
UKGE also features over 40 other miniatures and boardgame tournaments this year, including X-Wing, Blood Bowl and Star Wars Armada as well as a huge trade show, so there's plenty of opportunity to make this a weekend excursion for your entire club, whatever systems they are currently playing.
I'm out for this own.. A. its at the NEC and b. on Daddy duties anyway
Folks
The 2018 Challenge event attracted 14 participants for MeG, which was in itself a substantial increase of 40% on the 10 who attended in 2017.

Games will be 2 hours 45 mins plus a 1-15 min(s) variable period
Sat 9:00 to 12:00, 12:45 to 15:45 , 16:00 to 19:00
Sun 9:30 to 12:30, 13:30 to 16:30
The BHGS tables are in Hall 2, Tournament Area A, adjacent to the Board Game Library - you'll need to collect your passes from the Expo pickup points in order to access the hall. The Expo booking system should be keeping you up to date with what's going on and how to pick up tickets, however the print-off and scan system seems to be the favoured option.
If you are planning on driving, the NEC has changed the arrangements for parking this year. so the cost is now £12 for one day, £14.40 for 2 days or £21.60 for 3. However, to get the discounted rate you need to book in advance at https://www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk/carparking.php - it will be more expensive if you just rock up on the day. The booking is also now linked to your car registration so you can't share it as you could previously. This may mean that the option of sharing a cab or an Uber from your hotel may be better value (and allows you to sneak in a couple of beers too).
Enjoy all going to the Expo tomorrow.
Say hi to Hammy and his team and to Will at PSC.
