Title: Evading and slowing effects of fire
Post by: Bombardier on September 14, 2020, 07:02:26 AM
Hello Brains trust

I was playing a solo game Numidians V Carthaginians and the following situation arose during the charge phase.

Numidian Cav with shoot and charge ability, charged at Gaul cav equipped with Javelins

The Numidians rolled 2 hits on Gauls which after firing at the charging Numidians they evaded,

Do the two hits which was greater than 50% of the Gaul Frontage have an effect in reducing the evade distance generated by the VMD by a -1BW

Cheers

Ron

Yes. Slowing effects are applied as normal from Shoot & Charge shooting. Prompting through fire can also happen as normal for those skirmishing/running away.

Note that as the shooting is rolled at the point that the charge is declared the target gets to choose its response after the chargers shooting has been done. I mention this as it is sometimes forgotten and can affect the decision on what to do when charged.

Yes and one of the great skills of Shoot & Charge types to cause some chaos and ride down the enemy.
