Sorry if this is obvious to everyone else, but my current playing partner and I have equally limited experience. (I'm playing solo)
Is my understanding of how deployment and declaring flank marches correct for these examples?
- Example 1: A outscouted B by 100%
- B deploys their entire army
- Player A declare ambushes and flank marches
- Player B is prohibited from using ambushes and flank marches because all their UGs must be on table due to outscouting
- Player A deploys 100% of their army starting with their camp
- Example 2: No outscouting
- Both players declare ambushes and flank marches before any deployment, including camps. (Declaration occurs after outscouting, but since there wasn't any, it happens immediately)
- The defender places their first 1/3 of army, including camp
- The invader places their first 1/3 of army, including camp
- Continue with deployment...
Spot on.
And same sequence with any outscouting that does occur.
Si
Thanks for the reply. I'm finding that if I strictly read the rules as written and set aside any preconceived notions I can usually sort them out - although sometimes the rule is hidden away in the QRS or elsewhere.
Now, take your holiday!
Case 2 : the armies deploy 1/3 of the army based on the original total TUG + SUG 8) not 1/3 of the remaining army after deduction of ambushes and flank moves
